Learning from Type Deck
Type Deck identifies a diversity of type styles and characteristics from major cultural periods. Steven Heller and designer Rick Landers crafted this set of 54 iconic type styles in card form that features hand-drawn letterforms and original typography depicting historical insights into our shared language.
The Type Guys are currently producing the video series for colleges, community colleges, and continuing education – representing the six family styles that comprise the Type Deck. Each video set: Victorian, Arts & Crafts / Art Nouveau, Black Letter, Modern, Eclectic, and Post Modern, can become an integral part of a course syllabus.
